AARON RAMSDALE NOT SURE OF MIKEL ARTETA

Aaron Ramsdale is "very frustrated" with Mikel Arteta's forecast that he will return to the bench for Arsenal's Saturday night trip to Newcastle, according to club icon Ray Parlour. On Wednesday night, the Gunners' goalkeeper received a rare start away against West Ham in the Carabao Cup fourth round.

But he hardly produced the type of performance that will leave manager Mikel Arteta scratching his head over who to start in goal at St. James' Park. His lowest point occurred during the third goal of the Hammers' 3-1 victory, when Ramsdale should have had a strong enough hand on Jarrod Bowen's effort but instead was left picking the ball out of his net. Ramsdale's season hasn't been easy; after beginning it as the team's top player, he lost it to David Raya, a Brentford loanee who hasn't always impressed.

Parlour has spoken his opinion on the topic that is consuming Arsenal conversation and made a prediction on who will start in goal against the Magpies. "Aaron Ramsdale started against West Ham but I don’t think Mikel Arteta will pick him against Newcastle, he’ll stick with David Raya," .  Aaron is going to be very irritated. He has performed admirably ever since joining the team, and his presence in the locker room is crucial. The former Gunner continued, saying, "I'm not Mikel Arteta, but I don't like the scenario.

I have no idea what goes on behind the scenes or in training, so he made a difficult decision to stay with Raya. "But management needs to be brutal. Pep Guardiola has always been, and Mikel would have undoubtedly learned some things from him." After the match, Arteta talked about Ramsdale's performance at the London Stadium and was questioned about how his goalie handled the heckling from the home fans each time he touched the ball. The manager of Arsenal has reportedly expressed frustration with Ramsdale's tendency to play longer while under duress.

The manager of the Gunners answered, holding his cards close to his chest: "That is the scenario. Every participant only attempts to give it their all, and the audience is free to respond whatever they like." Palour's prediction may or may not come true, and only time will tell who Arteta starts in goal. However, Ramsdale shouldn't be too upset if he returns to the bench following his performance on Wednesday.
