ARSENAL LEADS 2-0 AT HALF TIME

Once again the Gunners take the lead at the Emirate off a corner kick by Declan Rice and Timber was right on the spot to head home another goal from a set piece.

This is becoming Arsenal trademark.

Though Leeds are not going down without a fight but they have been muscled into submission.

On the stroke of 45 minutes Timber's deft pass found Bukayo Saka running away from Gudmundson and rifled a shot past goalkeeper Perri to make it 2-0 here at the Emirate.

When Ebereshi Eze was asked to leave Arsenal, he cried for one week in disappointment.  He was just thirteen years old. He saw his childhood dream shattered, but today it's a different story. A player who was released for free is now coming back to Emirates Stadium for a 65 million tag.

No one expected that Ebereshi would become such an attacking sensation that even Arsenal, who once rejected him, would come back to pay such an amount for him. He had always dreamed of the day he would return to Arsenal, and he didn't hide it. So when Arsenal began to inquire about him, it was not difficult to say yes.

But it took so long for his club, Crystal Palace, and the Gunners to reach an agreement over what it would cost.  At one point, Tottenham Hotspur looked to hijack the deal from Arsenal, only for Arsenal to move swiftly and agree on all the terms of the club.

Arsenal had had a busy summer transfer window with several players coming in over the transfer window, among them, they have one of the most prolific strikers in Europe, Viktor Gyokeres. They also brought in Spanish international midfielder Martin Zubimendi and Chelsea and English winger Noni Madueke.

The players they brought in also included Kepa Arrizabalaga, also from Chelsea, and Christian Norgaard from Brentford, and Cristhian Mosquera from Valencia in Spain.
With all the signings, the expectations in the Emirates Stadium are that the Gunners, who have been runners-up for three seasons running, will win the league this season.

They had held on to their one-goal lead to get all three points at stake away at Old Trafford in the first week of the season.  Italian defender Calafiori had headed home a corner kick. And goalkeeper Raya had pulled off a man-of-the-match performance to help the Gunners escape with all three points at stake.

In-depth knowledge of the Bible make us to understand that the minimum acceptable experience of Jesus Christ which Jesus  expects is that people should become his disciples.

We can understand this when a young rich ruler went to see him in secret in the night. The man Nicodemus was a believer interested in Jesus's teachings but Jesus challenged him that he has to be born again

Nicodemus did not understand. It didn't surprise Jesus because for you to understand him you must maintain a continuous relationship with him.

You cannot come in one night and understand all about Jesus.

Apart from Nicodemus other people sorted after him like the Multitudes but he told them that they come to him only because of the bread he can miraculously provide for them and are not interested in His teachings.

A relationship that behaves like the multitude cannot reap much benefits from Jesus Christ.

Nicodemus was a believer but Jesus was telling Nicodemus and other ordinary believers that it is not enough to be just a believer. But that people must have a relationship like master and disciples with him.

So what did he tell the disciples when they asked him why he spoke to them plainly while he spoke to others who were not disciples in parables.

He said to them, "to you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven. The kingdom of God is a mystery and parables only heightened its mystery.

So if you want Jesus to speak plainly to you the mystery of the kingdom , you must be his disciple.

His disciples are interested in going to heaven which is the major interest of Jesus Christ.

Jesus's interest in a believer is minimal unless that believer has  a desire and not just an interest in going to heaven and that desire is on a daily basis.

Whosoever is interested in going to heaven must has a special interest in Jesus Christ because only through him can anyone make it to heaven.

You can't just be a believer in Jesus Christ you must believe in him for heaven.

Yes he can give you money, success, safety, healing etc but what he wants to give is assurance that you are on your way to heaven because if you have all those things and you don't have the assurance of heaven then you have nothing .

It now depends on what you want, those who want assurance of heaven must walk permanently with him as his disciples.

The secrets of the kingdom of heaven are revealed only to the disciples.

Political elites in the APC Oyo State have affected the party negatively because they reap the benefits of the work done by foot soldiers, and party foot soldiers have been thrown to the wind.

Ask yourself and let everyone ask themselves, how many can win their polling units again? That’s why Tinubu would never allow this kind of situation to happen in Lagos state, because if it happens, it can hardly be reversed. After all, the elite culprits will never own up they causing all the problems.

The APC foot soldiers are decamping to the PDP in their droves because there they enjoy better patronage. Take a look at Tinubu’s appointees in Oyo State. How many can win their polling units now, or have a plan to win in their polling units?

My brother, if you give anyone anything in their polling units now, it’s a personal benefit.  President Tinubu cannot do it all; he has shown us examples.  For 16 years, he nurtured the party, promoted influential foot soldiers influenced them to nurture others like themselves, but not the elites of Oyo State. It’s themselves and no one else.

Let us all go back to our LGs and painstakingly find our foot soldiers again and equip them, overlooking no one, but if you will lead them, then you must sacrifice by getting your own benefit last.

CHELSEA HELD TO A DRAW AT STAMFORD BRIDGE

Chelsea's start to the Premier League competition may be slow after playing out a goalless draw at Stamford Bridge on Sunday against F.A. Cup champions Crystal Palace.

After Palace had an Eze goal from a free kick ruled out, Palace was able to curtail all of Chelsea's attacks to pick a point from the encounter.

Palace, who are about to lose three of their most outstanding players in Eze, Guehi, and Mareb, but who were all on the lineup for Sunday's match, must do all they can to get a replacement.

Arsenal held on to their one-goal lead to bag their first three points of the season. The league runners up last year who scored seventeen goals through corner kicks the previous season got their only goal through no other means but a corner kick in the fifteenth minutes when Italian defender Calafiori headed home from the goal line giving the Red Devils shot stopper no chance at all, to register the Gunners first and only goal of the match.

The Amorim men didn't go down easily; they fought for the entire game and gave Arsenal a tough time, forcing David Raya to a man-of-the-match performance.

Gyokeree's debut was promising, but it ended in the 60th minute without a goal to his name, when Kai Harvert replaced him. However, Sesko started the match from the bench and did not become part of the game until the 65th minute.

Manchester United, who were on top throughout the match, had 52% of possession and had Arsenal's keeper make seven saves to earn him the man of the match.  Five yellow cards were awarded, and four went to Arsenal.

The home crowd was very vocal, and they had something to cheer about, even though their team lost, but they put up a commendable performance.

A loss to the Gunners is always a bitter pill to swallow in Old Trafford, but there's always a payback time.

Six teams are now tied up on three points at the top of the Premier League standings with one match remaining in week one of the Premier League.

\

The match lived up to the expectations as the top one on day one of the Premier League season.

In the wake of fresh imposition of tariffs hike on South Africa by President Donald Trump of US, South African economy which had witnessed growth in recent times, will be hit hard.

Recent growth in the mining and rebound in manufacturing may take downward turn. South African economy grew for a third consecutive quarter at about 0.3-0.4% and had shown signs of not going down.

But recently imposed tariffs may see such positive developments taking a downward turn as the agricultural and manufacturing sector will be mostly hit by the development.

President Trumps had imposed fresh tariffs on trading partners which also affected South African exports, with a 30% levy on all South African exports, this is relatively high by any standard.

This of course has the potential of raising the unemployment rates to the highest levels.

Already hampered with one of the highest unemployment rates in the world and world's slowest growth rate the 30% levy can be seriously devastating.

This could jeopardize about 30000 jobs in the automotive and the agricultural sector.

South Africa had had to turn their attention to China as a direct response to ameliorate the impact of US tariffs war on the country's economy.

A number of bilateral agreements are now being signed between the two countries towards the effect of bringing in Chinese trade.
