The last qualifiers for the January African Cup of Nations finals competition were held during this international break, completing the roster of the 24 countries that will go to Ivory Coast. Several players who are based in France are expected to compete.
The top two nations following a home-and-away round-robin format qualified for the 2024 finals. The last stage of qualification saw the 48 remaining teams divided into 12 groups of four teams. The 24 nations who advanced to the finals are:
- Nigeria
- Guinea-Bissau
- Burkina Faso
- South Africa
- Cameroon
- Namibia
- Egypt
- Guinea
- Ghana
- Angola
- Algeria
- Tanzania
- Gambia
- Mali
- Zambia
- DR Congo,
- Ivory Coast
- Mauritania

- Senegal
The finals will take place between January 13 and February 11th, 2024, so players like goalkeeper Andre Onana of Manchester United, striker Victor Osimhen of Napoli, and Liverpool's Mohamed Salah will miss out due to the tournament's timing. Gabon were perhaps the most disappointed of all the nations to miss out, even without Marseille's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, while Comoros, was the surprise package of the previous tournament in Cameroon.
