Christopher Nkunku will join Chelsea from RB Leipzig before the 2023–24 season, the club has announced with joy.
The 25-year-old, who has received 10 caps from France, has reached an agreement on a six-year contract that will start on July 1.
Nkunku expressed his extreme happiness upon joining Chelsea. "A lot of work was put into getting me to the club, and I'm looking forward to getting to know my new coach and teammates and showcasing my abilities to the Chelsea fans on the field."
"After playing in the Bundesliga and Ligue 1, I now want to play in the Premier League, one of the world's top leagues. I look forward to the challenge and will be honored to wear the Chelsea jersey.
'Christopher has shown himself one of the standout attacking players in European football over the previous two seasons,' stated Chelsea's co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley. 'Christopher will offer quality, creativity, and variety to our group.

"He has proven his talent at the highest level with RB Leipzig and France, and we are eager for him to join up with his new teammates before the new season," the statement continued.
Nkunku began his professional career at Paris Saint-Germain after graduating from the renowned Clairefontaine National Football Academy in France. Before leaving for RB Leipzig in the summer of 2019, he played 78 times for the first team, contributing to three Ligue 1 championships and two Cup de France victories.
Nkunku developed his reputation as one of the best forwards in European football in Germany, where he scored 35 goals across all competitions in 2021–2022, earned the Bundesliga Player of the Season and German PFA Player of the Season awards, and won the DFB-Pokal. The versatile attacker has scored 23 goals this season to help Leipzig finish third in the Bundesliga and retain the DFB-Pokal. Welcome to Chelsea, Christopher!
