UKRAINE TO SUPPLY GRAIN TO NIGERIA

The Memorandum of Understanding and Joint Participation in the Grain Terminal Project in the Port of Lekki, Nigeria, was signed by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and the international organization Lagos Free Zone (Tolaram Group) in London, according to the ministry's press service. On behalf of Ukraine, the document was signed by First Deputy Minister Taras Vysotsky.

In order to assure the ongoing, uninterrupted supply of Ukrainian agricultural products to Nigeria and the entire African continent, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy will work with the Lagos Free Zone Company to build the necessary infrastructure.

The major objective, according to Vysotsky, is to achieve food security in the areas that most urgently need it. In light of the fact that population worldwide is increasing, he continued, the agricultural industry in Ukraine continues to be crucial in maintaining global food security. Nigeria's Lekki Deep Sea Port is the nation's first entirely automated port. The Lagos free zone's owner, Tolarams Group (Singapore), and the governments of Nigeria and Lagos State collaborated on this initiative.


Due to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's intended attendance at the Paris Summit for the New Global Financial Pact in France, Egbetokun was bestowed on Tuesday by Vice President Kashim Shettima.

This comes after a recent significant reorganization that President Tinubu announced on Monday and in which Usman Baba, the previous Inspector General of Police of Nigeria, was replaced. In accordance with the Federal Republic of Nigeria's Constitution, Egbetokun was chosen to fill the office temporarily awaiting his confirmation.


In his inauguration speech, President Tinubu stressed that security will be his administration's top concern, demonstrating his dedication to making security a priority.

“Security shall be the top priority of our administration because neither prosperity nor justice can prevail amidst insecurity and violence,” Mr. Tinubu said in his inauguration speech.



President Tinubu has announced replacements for the army, navy, and air force leaders in addition to appointing Kayode Egbetokun as the new inspector general of police. The service chiefs have also been removed from their positions.

CHELSEA ACQUIRE A SIGNIFICANT PLAYER

Christopher Nkunku will join Chelsea from RB Leipzig before the 2023–24 season, the club has announced with joy.

The 25-year-old, who has received 10 caps from France, has reached an agreement on a six-year contract that will start on July 1.

Nkunku expressed his extreme happiness upon joining Chelsea. "A lot of work was put into getting me to the club, and I'm looking forward to getting to know my new coach and teammates and showcasing my abilities to the Chelsea fans on the field."

Nkunku began his professional career at Paris Saint-Germain after graduating from the renowned Clairefontaine National Football Academy in France. Before leaving for RB Leipzig in the summer of 2019, he played 78 times for the first team, contributing to three Ligue 1 championships and two Cup de France victories.

Nkunku developed his reputation as one of the best forwards in European football in Germany, where he scored 35 goals across all competitions in 2021–2022, earned the Bundesliga Player of the Season and German PFA Player of the Season awards, and won the DFB-Pokal. According to a recent source, Arsenal believes they will sign Roméo Lavia before Liverpool. While employed for the Procter & Gamble Company (P&G), a well-known American global consumer products firm with headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio, United States of America, and branches in many different countries, he held various high managerial roles. Between January 2004 and May 2006, he served as General Accounting and Stewardship Manager, where he oversaw a cross-functional team that prepared and submitted financial statements on a regional and international level using a consolidated data entry platform.

Mr. Adedeji was promoted to the post of Finance Leader-SAP (Systems Applications and Products) Implementation Project at P&G thanks to his work ethic and flair for success in the workplace. In addition to leading a 15-person financial team to create the internal procedures for the rollout of SAP West Africa following the project prerequisites, he oversaw the daily review and execution of SAP Modules. Between August 2007 and May 2011, he advanced to the post of Corporate Finance Manager (West Africa), where he was in charge of Procter & Gamble's Treasury, Corporate/Affiliate Accounting, AP, and Tax departments.

He implemented several brilliant, revenue-boosting, and cost-saving reforms while serving as the Commissioner of Finance in Oyo state. These innovations included best financial practices and a general financial turnaround. They also increased the state's Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).

Mr. Adedeji, a Fellow of Chartered Accountants (FCA), is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).

He has participated in numerous executive programs and training sessions focused on leadership, capacity building, development, and finance.

The United States of America, the Philippines, South Africa, Belgium, and Switzerland all have accounting, policy, administration, and stewardship departments.

Mr. Zacch Adedeji served as the Chairman of the Governing Board of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital in Bauchi State before being named the Executive Secretary of the NSDC in March 2021.
