The Northern Parkway Road in Abuja has been dedicated in honor of the well-known Nigerian author Wole Soyinka by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This action is a part of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) commissioning of several projects to commemorate the president's first year in office. The renowned dramatist, novelist, poet, essayist, and sub-Saharan African Wole Soyinka created literary history in 1986 when he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature. At the function, Tinubu complimented Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, for his outstanding work and voiced his admiration for him.
"They said you wouldn't deliver, but you've shown them incorrect, Wike. You are the person I chose, and you haven't let me down," Tinubu declared. This news follows President Tinubu's praise of Wike last week when he officially renamed the Southern Parkway (S8/S9) Bola Ahmed Tinubu Way in Wike's honor. Wike was praised by the president as a team leader and "Mr. Project," recognizing his commitment to finishing legacy projects in the Federal Capital Territory.
