Governor Aiyedatiwa of itOndo is expected to be declared as the winner of the 2024 gubernatorial election in Ondo. In the ruling expected on Wednesday the tribunal' judgment is being expected.
Former Governor of Kwara State, Senator Bukola Saraki, visited Oyo State on Monday to meet with Governor Seyi Makinde to discuss the repair of the PDP's structure. He came with another member of the reconciliation committee of the party, former governor of Gombe state, Ibrahim Dankwambo.
PDP is a party that developed along the lines of the old NPC and the NPN. Saraki's father was one of the most influential members of the NPN, where he became the Senate leader. These parties were founded to promote Fulani hegemony over the nation.
That was the agenda of the founders of Nigeria, the British colonial masters, and that is for reasons best known to them.
Over the years, their sympathizers began to dwindle mainly because Nigeria continued to regress under their watch and that of their protégés. Ironically, a minority group has been saddled with the Herculean task of leading Nigeria, and they have a penchant for picking the worst among them to lead so that they'll be in control of him to manipulate him.
One thing, though, by sharing enrichment, they have managed to win followers all around the nation.
Since politics is for the development of the nation and the people of the nation, they have their patronage.
The Fulanis have a tool with which they strengthen themselves in leadership in Nigeria, and that is the 'propagation of Islam'.
On the other hand, a progressive view that broadly disagrees with the idea that a tribe will determine the leadership of the nation under any circumstance is also being championed by the Yorubas, and part of their belief is that they, too, can rule Nigeria.
Their political platform now is the APC, which is at the helm of affairs presently in Nigeria. The conservative elements find it difficult to cope with a government that doesn't give power to the Fulanis as a right they feel they have to return to power or lose all relevance, and their champions, Atiku and El-Rufai, are searching for a platform to use for their move against the APC.
Saraki's mission is to recreate PDP as a worthy platform attractive enough to keep the interests of the conservatives.
Who are the progressives? We must wait to find out.
Atiku and El-Rufai seem to be running out of time in the political game of 2027 as PDP governors decamp to the ruling party day after day.
What's their motivation for harboring a presidential ambition?
They claimed that the present government's poor implementation of its economic policies and Tinubu's poor reputation are the factors motivating them to contest for the presidency.
However, it's not a hidden fact that the Fulanis believe they have a right to always lead Nigeria, but this is not the case now, nor are they in control as they usually are. Additionally, they have exhibited a personality issue with Tinubu, which they feel would be better settled at the 2027 polls.
So far, it is getting very difficult by the day for them to put up a strong structure to fight the president.
They are tinkering with different ideas, though, and one of those ideas is a Muslim-Fulani- northerner/ Muslim-Fulani-northerner ticket to have a ticket strong enough to defeat the Tinubu/Shetima ticket. And there is a growing idea within the camp of the coalition that an Atiku/El-Rufai ticket might just do the trick.
Even when it is looking like an impossible task, what with the members of the other political parties decamping every day to the ruling party.
China is the world's biggest lender, with Pakistan its biggest borrower, but it's a trap that's not letting off any of these countries. With some eight countries, it has become critical, and Nigeria, with over $5b, is one of the largest.
Though under Tinubu's administration, borrowing from China has greatly reduced but the burden of the existing ones makes the citizens groan.
Many steps have been taken to reduce these foreign loans, like the deregulation of forex trade, but direct investment in home-grown industries by the three tiers of government may go a long way to ameliorate the present harsh economic conditions.
Russia had accused Britain of complexity in the unprecedented and devastating Ukrainian drone attack on Russia a few days back because of the technology that Ukraine put to use and Ukrainians have also criticized President Trump's telephone conversation with the Russian leader Vldamair Putin because Trump did not insist on a no civilian casualties stand when Putin retaliates the Ukrainian drone attack. Russia is fond of attacking civilian positions.

Russia thinks the recent Ukrainian attack unleashed on Russia could lead to WW3 and believes Britain had a hand in it.
More than one hundred drones from Ukraine attacked Russia, destroying about 40 warplanes. And they were shot far into Russia with devastating precision.
But after a telephone conversation between Putin and US President Trump during which the attack was discussed, Trump indicated that Russia will likely retaliate, but many Ukrainians believe Putin should have warned the Russian President against civilians attack.
Trump has said that if the conflict did not get to a level of escalation, they wouldn't be willing to stop or seriously contemplate a ceasefire and peace negotiations
Russia commenced the much-anticipated retaliation attacks against Ukraine early on Friday morning with an attack on Kyiv, and at least four people were reported to have lost their lives when more than forty were seriously wounded.
When you declare that someone is faithful, it means he is reliable, dependable, and trusted.
Have you ever found someone who can be trusted in all regards?
When you needed money, he was there to give you, even if he had to give you what he urgently needed. One who's willing to take a punishment in your place.
Who is ready to sacrifice their own needs for you to be satisfied?
Such men are uncommon.
Many people are afraid to make some very important decisions of their lives or take very important life steps because a great disaster always occurs when you fail into the hands of unfaithful men.
Faithfulness is not written on the face.
Being parents is no garrantee of faithfulness.
The world seemed to be made up of unfaithful people.
Mark my word it is not as if there are no more faithful men, no, though very few in number they are very difficult to identify.
No one will confess his unfaithfulness.
Faithful men are the ones who make the world on, go forward. You know the quality of a city by the faithful men in it. In the family, as husbands or wives, or children, they make their families great.
Where you have fathers sleeping with their daughters, wives betraying their husbands and children and children being so rebellious, the faithful ones are an inspiration. In the house of Jesse, you have David, and in Babylon, you have Esther, and you also have Joseph in Pharaoh's house, though a slave boy, he was still faithful to his boss. How can God use you when you're not faithful?
They're worth their size in gold, and that's why Jesus asked the question Who can find them because it takes a faithful man to find another. Those who are unfaithful still look for faithful people. An unfaithful husband or wife looks for a faithful spouse.
They look for faithful workers even when they are unfaithful bosses, and unfaithful citizens want faithful Presidents. Its a disaster when you fall into the hands of unfaithful people. And there's no way to know them until you have fallen into their traps.
Faithfulness has measures, but Jesus wants us to like him, be faithful in 'all our houses'. You can never find one more faithful than Jesus. He is unreservedly faithful, that's faithful in 'all his house.'
In your family, you're faithful, in your work, you are faithful, in your business, you are faithful, in your vocation, you are faithful, in your marriage, you are faithful, in your relationships, you are faithful, then the spirit of Jesus is upon you. You should be asking yourself whether you are faithful or not, because faithfulness has its reward, and unfaithfulness also has its rewards.
A lot of people pretend to be faithful, but they are not; you must devise a means to know them.
The world is filled with betrayers!
You can not be a betrayer and hope to be blessed with a faithful friend.
For you reap what you sow. Some people are so bad that they don't know the difference between betrayal and faithfulness.
They are worse when they can't appreciate faithfulness.
They come from a tribe, a family of betrayers.
But the qualities of a faithful man are Kindness, patience, endurance, suffering long, giving, peacefulness, goodness, etc, but unfaithful people cannot hide themselves.
That's why I'm amazed that some people will say they don't want to accept Jesus as their friend. What better friend can you have than can be like him?

Nigeria's President (NIPRE) had received the foremost Afrobeat crooner, David Adeleke, also known as Davido, and members of his family, including his uncle, the Governor of Osun State, Sen. Ademola Adeleke, and his father, Chief Adedeji Adeleke, at his Bourdillon residence in Lagos, the nation's commercial nerve center.
There are many speculations surrounding this visit, but knowing the kind of person Chief Adedeji Adeleke, Davido's father, is, and the enormous influence he has over the Adeleke family and in the business circle in Nigeria, he'll likely consider closing ranks with the APC a good idea now.
And it is a no-brainer to pay a visit to the NIPRE in Lagos, as Aso Rock Villa may be a bit cumbersome.
APC has refuted the news making the rounds that members of the House of Representatives will be granted automatic tickets to contest the forthcoming 2027 elections.
Observers, particularly members of the political party, have commended the party herachy for taking a timely decision before party is flooded by PDP lawmakers.
The polity is full of unpopular lawmakers who are looking to ride on the popularity the party may have to offer and cash in on the free ticket offer, if it exists.
They are not adding any value to any party. When they are elected in one, they decamp to the other to dodge the responsibility they owe that party, which makes it impossible for their constituents to challenge them during their term in office.
For Democracy's sake, everyone must go through the process to prove their popularity.
The easiest way to bring a party down is to give automatic tickets.
It usually produces unpopular candidates.
President Donald Trump agreed with a reporter at a press conference, who suggested the President had spoken with the Israeli Prime Minister to put on hold any air strike against Iran pending the conclusion of peace talks, because there was a resolution in sight.
President Trump claimed the peace talks were nearing a conclusion. And that any air strike will jeopardize the talks.
Trump's suggestion is seen in many circles as not being entirely acceptable to the Israeli leader who favored immediate American air strikes to stop Iran from enriching its uranium to make weapons which Israel finds a jeopardy to Israelis but Iran is insisting on its fundamental right to enrich uranium as it belong to Iran an action many fear may result to further escalation of the volatile situation in the Middle East.
But President Trump is confident the talks will reach a good end because it seems Iran is not insisting on its right to enrich its uranium.
Britain colonized the area known as Nigeria and united the three regions of North, West, and East in 1914, a process referred to as amalgamation. Colonization introduced Christianity, formal education, and, of course, Western civilization.
Civilization triggered agitation for independence on the basis of the new composition and not as the Old African kingdoms.
This specific strategy engineered disharmony, disunity, and distrust among African states from which they never recovered, even more than sixty years after independence.
The British are particularly notorious in this regard. Not only have they planted disharmony, distrust, and disunity, but they fostered it by deliberately handing over power to the Northerners through whom they feel they can perpetuate their agenda.
Nobody wants to relinquish power, not the British, they feed on the proceeds and resources of the colonies and use the wealth of the colonies to develop their economies, nor the northerners, their elites use the power to oppress the common people and the people of the Southern regions.
So the outcome of these was agitations which led to military rulers, coup d'état and counter coup, and then civil war.
After many years of military rules dominated by Northerners and their protégés, the military decided to step down and cede power to civilians but the platform was always skewed to either bring to power the northerners or their southern cronies until Tinubu became president and he began to show that he was nobody's lackey and began to bring people from every part of Nigeria into government, to the serious distaste of Northerners particularly their elites who had hietheto grew up to believe that power in Nigeria belongs to the northerners only.
There were offices which are their exclusive rights. Tinubu, being a Southerner, brought many Southerners to power and gave them many appointments, no Southerners had ever had.
They began to occupy positions that had been for northerners, but then what do you use power for but to empower your people, whom you can depend on for their loyalty.
Apart from being polarized along regional and religious lines, they are also divided along ethnic and social lines. And their vision is sharply divided, embodied in confusion. While some want to Islamize Nigeria, others want to take over power by force. Some want to separate from the nation by force. So there is a lot of confusion.
But there are a few who still believe the nation can be great. And it seems one of them is Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
