According to rumors, world champion Lionel Messi, 35, and former Barcelona, Argentina, and Atlanta United head coach Gerardo 'Tata' Martino will meet up in Miami. The Argentine playmaker appears to be planning to sign with his new team no early than July. After Argentina's upcoming international matches, a four-week sabbatical for Messi is reportedly in the works.

Messi 4The World Cup champion has earned it, and it may prevent him from playing in any MLS games until August 16, when Inter Miami travels to play St. Louis City. On Friday, July 21, against Liga MX team Cruz Azul at DRV PNK Stadium, Messi might make his Inter Miami Cup debut. After firing Phil Neville on June 1, Inter Miami is currently without a manager.

There have been many names connected, but Gerardo "Tata" Martino stands out. Atlanta United, a group of South American talent, was converted by Martino into the most thrilling club in MLS. When his fellow countryman Martino led Barcelona in the 2013–14 season and Argentina from 2014 to 2016, Messi played for Martino on two separate occasions. Messi could make up to $125–150 million a year in Miami, claims GOAL. Only his salary will cover this.

Additionally, he is anticipated to get a cut of revenues from Apple TV, the service that streams MLS games. Apple is also developing a four-part documentary series about Argentina's World Cup victory. According to rumors, his contract has a two-year term with a one-year extension option through the summer of 2026. After it is finished, Messi will have the option to invest and find his own MLS team.

The Inter Miami first team features 10 South Americans, including teenager Leonardo Campana and MLS legend Josef Martinez, who has scored 101 goals. He will also collaborate with fellow Argentinians Nicolas Stefanelli, Franco Negri, and Benjamin Cremaschi.  DeAndre Yedlin will also be a well-known name to English football supporters. The former Tottenham, Sunderland, and Newcastle player is an American international

MATEO KOVACIC LEAVING CHELSEA

Mateo Kovacic has made it seem as though he will not be playing at Stamford Bridge this summer.

Despite an underwhelming campaign at Chelsea, the midfielder is allegedly close to moving to Manchester City. With only one year remaining on his contract and an overstretched playing roster, Todd Boehly, and company are eager to cash in.

With just one league goal in an inconsistent team that was placed in the middle of the table, Kovacic had little effect on Chelsea's season. The 29-year-old might move aside so that Moses Caicedo and Romeo Lavia can be signed.

Pep Guardiola wants an experienced midfielder since Ilkay Gundogan is poised to leave the Etihad when his contract expires this month, despite the surprise of ties to Man City. Kovacic is a good fit given his background at Chelsea and Real Madrid as well as his reduced price.

MATEO KOVACIC 2The Croat has dropped his biggest clue yet that he will be departing West London while speaking while on foreign duty. Kovacic even wished City luck in the forthcoming Champions League championship game.

After five successful years (at Chelsea), "everything is pointing towards the fact that I will change," Kovacic told Nacional. But anything can happen in football. I'm currently concentrating on Croatia and the Nations League.

Manchester City is a strong group that merits a spot in the Champions League final. That's all I've got to say. We'll see what happens since the summer is so long. Chelsea is fantastic in my opinion. They love me, and I love the city and the supporters. The memories I have of Chelsea are amazing. We'll have to wait and see.

Messi is eager to return to Barcelona after leaving Paris Saint-Germain this summer. His father, Jorge, recently met with Blaugrana president Joan Laporta to negotiate an emotional reunion at Camp Nou.

Messi wants to return to Barcelona, and Jorge said as much after their conversation. There is hope that a deal may be reached, but the 35-year-old has also been offered a staggering contract in Saudi Arabia, which would make him the highest-paid athlete on earth.

Messi 1Later, Jorge told Jijantes FC that a decision on Messi's future will be made soon because La Liga is anticipated to approve Barcelona's financial sustainability plan.

Later, Jorge acknowledged that it was "difficult" to predict where Messi will play next season.

La Liga, which received a viability plan from Barcelona to get permission to make signings this summer, has prevented them from adding any additional money due to their wage cap overage.

Although 90min is aware that their transfer requests are likely to be approved soon, Barcelona still has a lot of other matters to take care of. Another top priority is to register the contracts of Ronald Araujo and Gavi, whose senior extensions are still de facto unofficial.

Barcelona also intends to sign Ilkay Gundogan, the captain of Manchester City, and center-back Inigo Martinez, who will depart Athletic Club as a free agent this summer, once a decision regarding Messi's future has been made.

In nocturnal strikes on the Ukrainian capital, Dnipro, and eastern regions, Russia launched over 20 drones and ten missiles, which were all shot down by Ukraine, according to Ukrainian officials on Friday.

The office of Volodymyr Zelenskiy, the president, released a statement claiming that an oil depot had been hit multiple times, causing damage to the pumping machinery for oil products and that a fire had started on the outskirts of the northeastern city of Kharkiv.

In order to prepare for an anticipated Ukrainian counteroffensive, Russia has increased its missile and drone strikes on Ukraine this month, focusing mostly on infrastructure and logistical sites.

During the nocturnal attacks, the Ukrainian air force claimed to have shot down two reconnaissance drones, 23 Shahed drones built in Iran, and 10 missiles fired from the Caspian Sea.

It stated that 31 drones and 17 missiles had been launched in all during the attacks, which began on Thursday night around 10:00 p.m. (1900 GMT) and lasted until 5:00 a.m. on Friday.

RUSSIAN GROANED AT JAPANESE SANCTIONS

Following the deployment of forces into Ukraine in February of last year, Russia was subjected to a wave of sanctions but calls from Kyiv and its allies for more severe measures against Moscow have risen.
