Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has asked his commissioners and Special Advisers to provide him with innovative ideas and policies intended to lessen the suffering of the populace.
According to Governor Aiyedatiwa, his government could not afford to fall short in that area.
According to Aiyedatiwa, political leaders in the current climate must set an example for others to follow and be willing to give up their extravagant lifestyles to make the necessary sacrifices.
Following the swearing-in of newly appointed Commissioners and Special Advisers, the governor of Ondo addressed the assembly.
Bayo Philip, the new Head of Service, was also sworn in.
Pastor Emmanuel Igbasan, Engr. Razaq Obe, Mrs. Omowunmi Isaac, Dr. Olukayode Abraham Ajulo, Mr. Akinwunmi Sowore, and Mr. Oyeniyi Oseni were sworn in as commissioners.
The newly appointed Special Advisers are: Prof. Simidele Odimayo; Dr. (Mrs.) Olawunmi Ilawole; Summy Smart Francis; Mr. Bablola Joseph Ayoade; Mrs. Olamide Falana; Hon. Olugbenga Omole; and Comrade Abdulganiy Muhammad.
According to Governor Aiyedatiwa, the previous Executive Council was dissolved in the best interests of the state as a whole and with the intention of accelerating the state's growth.
According to Aiyedatiwa, his government has taken significant action to lessen the suffering of the populace and elevate the state in terms of economic growth.
He said that he had given his approval for the disbursement of N550 million to cover the registration fees for the 2024 West African Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for all state applicants for public secondary schools who meet the requirements.
The governor of Ondo expressed hope that the country-wide benefits of the release of around 102,000 metric tons of different grain varieties from the Strategic Reserve and the Rice Millers Association of Nigeria would materialize as quickly as feasible.
He assigned the new Head of Service the responsibility of providing the necessary leadership throughout the public service.
He was asked to keep up the best possible income creation by Aiyedatiwa.
"You have sworn an oath of allegiance which is very significant in many ways, including a higher commitment to ideals of service," the speaker stated. As such, you are urged to prioritize the interests of the State in all that you do.

After working in various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) and gaining a variety of experiences in various capacities, it is hoped that you will skillfully apply your wealth of experience to your new appointment to further add value to our Administration, both in terms of accountability and transparency. It is your responsibility to make sure that state funds are not embezzled and that the public sector continues to generate the maximum amount of income possible.
On his part, the newly appointed Head of Service pledged to make sure that employee loans were adequately managed and that promotion letters were sent out in January.
According to him, the loans would be arranged to be paid back till retirement.
