To express their disapproval of Tola Odeyemi's nomination as postmaster general and chief executive officer, Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) employees have shuttered the organization's headquarters in Abuja. President Tinubu changed the leadership of communication agencies, and the appointment was one of the changes he announced through presidential spokeswoman Ajuri Ngelale. Reports emerged regarding the potential restoration of Postmaster-General Adeyemi Adepoju, who had been fired.

Adepoju was observed addressing employees who thought he had been given a promotion. But, in a show of support for Adepoju, protesting NIPOST employees barred the newly appointed CEO, Odeyemi, from entering. They protested against Odeyemi's appointment by holding banners and chanting solidarity songs.
