$500m Eurobond Debt Repays by Nigeria

$500 million Eurobond that was issued by the federal government through the Debt Management Office (DMO)

was repaid on July 12, 2023, the day it was due. The Eurobond was issued in July 2013 for a tenor of ten (10) years at a coupon of 6.375% per year (as part of a dual-tranche USD1 billion

Nigeria had previously redeemed three USD 500 million Eurobonds: one in July 2018, another in January 2021, and a USD 300 million Diaspora Bond in June 2022, according to the DMO.

"These raise the total amount of securities redeemed by Nigeria in the International Capital Market (ICM) to USD1.8 billion, together with the USD500 million Eurobond redeemed today The fact that Nigeria successfully redeemed its Eurobonds and Diaspora Bonds in the ICM throughout the last six (6) years is evidence of its effective debt management procedures and preparation
