Governor Aiyedatiwa of itOndo is expected to be declared as the winner of the 2024 gubernatorial election in Ondo. In the ruling expected on Wednesday the tribunal' judgment is being expected.

House of Representatives member: Makinde warns that lawmakers reporting on Ondo Governor Aiyedatiwa to Tinubu will only unleash chaos.

Trinity Plaza 123

He claims that the political crisis in the state last year was resolved by the President's personal participation, but these parliamentarians were not involved in any of that process. As legislators in the state reported Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to President Bola Tinubu, Dr. Abiola Peter Makinde, a member of the House of Representatives representing the Ondo East/West Federal Constituency, stated that a crisis was imminent in Ondo State.

Makinde stated, "Life will happen to all of us differently and we need to take serious caution as we play this politics," in a statement he signed and released on Friday. Heating up the political climate in order to obtain unfair favor wouldn't have been required if political involvement leading to leadership was only about service.

"Deliberate falsehood and chicaneries would have been eradicated," he declared. I am appreciative of their two votes of confidence in my abilities and can only explain why I offered to serve the wonderful people of the Ondo East/West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. If they hadn't made the mistake of making it appear as though the letter was coming from the Ondo State Caucus in the Green chambers but was actually signed by only five of them, I wouldn't have responded to the sudden letter allegedly written and signed by five Ondo State House of Representatives members against Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.

I need things to be made clear because I want history to be nice to me. "Regarding my colleagues, I believe this letter has exposed individuals who would rather instigate a crisis inside the party than work to prevent one. It is counterproductive that legislators who lead their communities would wake up out of nowhere to defend the late former governor Rotimi Akeredolu, whom they deserted when he was still alive. The federal legislator stated that although the former governor's family claims to love him more in death than in life, the caucus has not felt it appropriate to visit them after his passing.

What part did the caucus play in the despicable days of dirty politics that almost brought down our state the previous year? To protect the state from those who purposefully obstructed it, how many letters did we write to the president? He asked. He claims that the political crisis in the state last year was resolved by the President's personal participation, but these parliamentarians were not involved in any of that process.

"It is simple to analyze the people in that statement to demonstrate that this is about the upcoming governorship election in the State, not about Ondo State or her people," he stated. Although one of the five writers of this letter is a well-known candidate, they all back different candidates. The caucus leader, Hon. Adesida, is vying to be the running partner of a candidate for the state's governorship. Hon. Odimayo is a candidate for governor. While Hon. Akinfiranye is the director general of the campaign of another candidate for governor, Wale Akinterinwa, who is his kinsman, Hon. Adelegbe is the director general of the campaign of another contender, Hon. Mayowa "Akinfolarin."

As a result, it is simple to determine who is telling the truth in all of this. Fighting alongside someone you believe to be your adversary is not a noble endeavor. I refuse to participate in such. The facts must be stated, even if I haven't been asked to speak on behalf of the governor. Every accusation made against him was made without due process. The five legislators were eager to punish a man who had done them no harm.

Regardless of who gets the credit, it wasn't until Aiyedatiwa was appointed governor that the $35,000 wage award and the 2017 salary arrears that were purportedly Akeredolu's proposal were paid. The government makes its expenditures monthly. Akeredolu was out of office for almost six months prior to his passing. How can parliamentarians, who are expected to be well-versed in government operations, assert that he endorsed the current course of action more than half a year ago?

It says volumes about the hatred in their hearts that politicians would even scoff at such admirable accomplishments rather than celebrate them. If Akeredolu took the initiative as they claimed, then why is the governor held accountable for erasing Aketi's legacy when he has publicly promised to finish all of his former boss's projects? It is absurd that these politicians, who feel threatened by the governor's growing popularity ahead of the upcoming election, would assert that there is no unity within the party when it is they who are fomenting faux crises through misleading narratives.

"The claim that Aiyedatiwa has sidelined the party chairman is akin to a beer parlor talk since the chairman hasn't raised such with the party in Ondo state and Abuja. This governor held an expanded stakeholders meeting of the party for the first time in many years, and it has given members of the party a sense of belonging and they are happier than before." Calm politics is a necessary component of harmony. Peace is the precondition for progress.

If Aiyedatiwa can turn his late boss's alleged adversaries into allies, then I applaud him. Friendship is a difficult task in and of itself, let alone taking on the political opponents of another. I'm happy that the President of Nigeria is a fantastic role model for a leader who is willing to show forgiveness and make accommodations for people who have harmed him over his political career. How could politicians who were elected by their people to promote peaceful coexistence imply that late Akeredolu's Deputy Governor, Chief Adelami Olayide, is an opponent of his even in death? This individual even dismantled his organization to assist Aketi in the reelection when he was unable to secure the party ticket.

Even after one of the sons passed away, would you still want to stoke the flames of hate amongst them? This is not kind. It is not fair to Aketi. He went on to say that the governor has the authority to dissolve the state excos. He emphasized that, given the chaos that had engulfed the state while the late Governor Akeredolu was away, the only logical course of action would have been to dissolve the cabinet in order to allow for new ideas, new life, and the prevention of sabotage.

I may pound my chest and claim that the anxiety around the elections and the next gubernatorial contest is the cause of this anxiousness. It is selfish to do this. It does not even come close to showing affection for the deceased Aketi. We should all examine our hearts and consciences. King only by God is crowned. What is, will be, is.Blackmailing the governor is a bad idea if these lawmakers fear that the governor's popularity would hurt their prospects of being re-elected in 2027. "Aiyedatiwa is a man of peace who has shown a willingness to collaborate with all parties. Rather than extorting the governor, let my colleagues speak with him and engage in negotiations," he declared.

AIYEDATIWA, LAMENTS AKEREDOLU’S DEATH

Governor of Ondo State, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has stated that he carried on the traditions of his late predecessor, former Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, who had expressed his desire for Aiyedatiwa to replace him. Aiyedatiwa expressed his hope that Akeredolu had been alive to see his appointment as governor, stating that it would have been an honor for the late leader. On December 27, 2023, Aiyedatiwa took over as the governor of Ondo State, soon after Akeredolu passed away in Germany while undergoing treatment for prostate cancer. In an attempt to hold onto the governorship, he plans to run in the state's upcoming November governorship election.

Aiyedatiwa

Aiyedatiwa stated that he would have preferred for his late employer to still be alive to witness him take office as the state's governor during a conversation with a few media executives and journalists on Thursday in Akure, the state capital. Aiyedatiwa emphasized that it was the late Akeredolu's desire for him to become the state's next governor and said that the late governor would have been proud of him as a deserving successor. "I am proud to say that I am a part of Akeredolu's legacies," the governor declared. He has always wanted me to take over for him.

On the first day of our inauguration, he said that. He said that several times during our Exco sessions. "I would have rather he had stayed behind and observed me lead the state." I'm sure he'll be pleased with me.

The governor said that he had learned several traits from the way his former boss led, such as facing problems head-on without fear. He also mentioned how close he was to the late governor. "Akeredolu was my trainer. This was a man who never held back when it came to national concerns. He claims his thoughts are unaffected by his quest. All eyes will be on him when he speaks. "We absorb his attributes in governing," he extolled. On Thursday night, at the MKO Abiola Democracy Park in Akure, a victorious soul crusade marked the beginning of the burial preparations for the deceased former governor.

This was revealed in a statement released on Thursday by Mr. Richard Olatunde, the late governor's chief press secretary. "As we bid farewell, we acknowledge that our parting is not one of finality," Olatunde stated. Rather, our commitment is to safeguarding the legacy of Akeredolu and the honorable things he performed throughout his lifetime. His impact endures even after his passing since he will always be our source of inspiration and guidance.

Michael Graham, a member of the National Transportation Safety Board, stated that officials were on the site to collect perishable evidence at a media conference on Saturday (3 am Nigerian time, Sunday). Witness accounts of the weather at the time of the accident point to a wintry mix and rain.

Neither a flight data recorder nor a cockpit voice recorder were installed on the chopper. Graham added, "Those kinds of recording equipment were not necessary for this chopper to have. When questioned about any facts on the passengers, Graham said that none existed, but that "any names will be released through the coroner's office," but he did not say when.

MINISTER OF SPORT ENCOURAGES ALEX IWOBI

A message from the Sports Minister to Alex Iwobi I vehemently denounce the cyberbullying of Alex Iwobi and all other athletes. They sacrifice much, if not all of themselves, to represent our country; the least we can do is show our support for them by speaking and acting with kindness and grace.

Sport Minister

To Alex Iwobi, Be strong. You were a member of the squad that competed in AFCON 2023 and won a silver medal. We last took home a silver medal in AFCON 2000, which was twenty-three years ago. Cyberbullies have no power to dictate what the nation's leaders, or the rest of Nigerians, myself included, think of you. For the sake of the country, you contributed more than four days of your finest effort. We're proud of you. You have our admiration; keep on rising.

The late Herbert Wigwe, the global chief executive officer (GCEO) of Access Holdings Plc, had his parents visited by Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, the former group managing director of Access Bank. Kemi Badenoch

The Federal Government, State Governors, as well as investors and business executives from both Nigeria and Britain, will be met by Kemi Badenoch, a Nigerian-born man, and Helen Grant, the Prime Minister's Trade Envoy to Nigeria, during their visit. The statement claims that during the discussions, the minister would look at both existing and prospective trade and investment opportunities, ranging from energy and infrastructure projects to education, with the potential to generate thousands of employment. Minister Badenoch aims to enhance the cooperation between the United Kingdom and Nigeria, eliminate trade and investment obstacles, expand commerce between the two nations, and guarantee that Nigeria has more access to the City of London's facilitative role for global business.

"Nigeria is one of the UK's most important partners in Africa," stated Dr. Richard Montgomery, the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, during her visit. We are dedicated to assisting Nigeria in opening up new investment possibilities, encouraging increased UK and foreign investment through the City of London, and ultimately generating employment in both of our nations. COCOA PRICE ESCALATE AT THE WORD MAEKET

There are concerns that the price of a chocolate bar may increase as cocoa prices have reached a record high. This widely used commodity's price has increased by more than 40% in the past month alone, from £3,443 on January 9 to £4,909 per metric tonne on Friday. The price on London's ICE market surged by over 5% on Friday alone. Prices for cocoa were around £1,904 a year ago. Cadbury's issued a warning last month that it would need to implement "carefully considered price increases". They stated: "Making changes to the price of our products is always a last resort, however, costs across our supply chain have risen steeply."

The company stated: "Core ingredients we heavily rely on, like cocoa and sugar are a lot more expensive, while the cost of energy, packaging, and transport also remain high." They went on to say: "As a result, we are having to make some carefully considered price increases across our range so we can continue to provide consumers with the brands they love without compromising on taste or quality." In other developments, Nestle declared earlier this week that declining sales had forced it to stop producing Yorkie and Breakaway biscuit bars. US manufacturer Hershey's announced on Thursday that it would need to make cost reductions of $300 million (£238 million) and issued a warning that it would not meet market expectations.

The CEO of the Hershey Company, Michele Buck, has issued a warning, stating that rising cocoa costs may force chocolate prices to increase. According to a Which? analysis from the previous year, the price of holiday chocolate boxes had increased by at least 50%. By the end of the previous year, chocolate was increasing in price in supermarkets almost twice as quickly as other food and beverages. In September of last year, a startling discovery surfaced: Galaxy had lowered the weight of their Smooth Milk bar from 110g to 100g, yet the cost had increased at Tesco from 99p to £1.25. On Tesco's website, a 110g Galaxy bar cost £1.35 as of Friday.

EPL TO INTRODUCE BLUE CARD

The top five players in line to get the first-ever blue card in Premier League history are these five individuals. Since the 1970 World Cup, referees have been able to issue red and yellow cards, but it appears that they may soon be able to use a new color. The International Football Association Board (IFAB) has authorized the introduction of a blue card as part of a trial for sin-bins, according to The Telegraph.

Trinity Plaza 123

Under the new policy, a player will receive a blue card and be sidelined for ten minutes if they commit a cynical foul or display disapproval towards an official. A player may be dealt a red card if they are dealt two blue cards or a combination of yellow and blue cards.

According to the Telegraph, "Top-tier competitions will be excluded from initial testing in the professional game in case the protocols require further refinement, but elite trials could still begin as soon as the summer." Aleksandr Ceferin, the outgoing head of UEFA, expressed his disapproval of sin bins to the Telegraph, stating that "football is no longer football." They won't be utilized by us in UEFA competitions."

As the Super Eagles advance to the AFCON final, Bukayo Saka, Dominic Solanke, and other players of Nigerian heritage extend their congratulations.

Bukayo Saka of Arsenal shared a photo on his Instagram account of himself supporting the Nigerian Super Eagles during the penalty shootout in their semi-final encounter against Bafana Bafana.

Joshua Zirkzee, a striker for Bayern Munich on loan who represents the Netherlands but whose mother is from Nigeria, as well as Manuel Akanji of Manchester City, and Noni Madueke, an England U-23 international, were also supported.

Dominic Solanke, a former player for Liverpool and currently playing for Bournemouth, also took part in the festivities. Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori, two former Chelsea players, pushed the Super Eagles to defeat Ivory Coast in the championship game.

Nigeria scored four of their five spot penalties in the penalty shootout, with Stanley Nwabali emerging as the winner. After stopping two spot kicks to advance Nigeria to the championship, the Chippa United goalie made history.

Following the Super Eagles' valiant victory against South Africa in the AFCON 2023 semi-final, several footballers of Nigerian ancestry have applauded the team.

The AFCON 2023 tournament final between Nigeria and Ivory Coast will take place at the Stade Olympique Allasane Ouattara on Sunday.

William Troost-Ekong, the team captain, broke the scoreless draw in the second half. Following Teboho Mokoena's foul on Victor Osimhen, Jose Peseiro's team was awarded a penalty, which Ekong converted. Mokoena then scored at the other end following a foul by Alhassan Yusuf of Nigeria, which resulted in a penalty for Hugo Broos's team.
