When the two boxers square off on March 8, Francis Ngannun of Cameroon has vowed to test Anthony Joshua's shin as a form of combat.
On Monday night, January 15, Francis Ngannou, the former heavyweight champion of the UFC, committed to investigating if Anthony Joshua's chin is not as powerful as he has been told. Joshua glanced at Ngannou as the former heavyweight champion of the UFC described his strategy for their ten-round boxing contest on March 8 at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, during a press conference in London.

Ngannou believes that Joshua won't be able to bounce back if he gives him a left hook similar to the one he gave Tyson Fury in the third round of their battle on October 28.
In June 2019 at Madison Square Garden in New York, Anthony Joshua—who had 27 wins and 3 losses—was downed four times by Andy Ruiz Jr., who defeated the former IBF, IBO, WBA, and WBO champion via seventh-round technical knockout. Joshua had been knocked down by Wladimir Klitschko in the sixth round of their fight, but he bounced back and stopped the former IBF, IBO, WBA, and WBO champion from Ukraine in the eleventh round. Joshua also defeated Klitschko in April 2017 at London's Wembley Stadium.
What do you think I'm going to do when I fight him? Ngannou stated. It's to locate and search for his chin. That is, after all, what occurs during a battle. .. You attempt to punch someone in the chin or wherever else you can hit them in a fight, right? And, indeed, from what I've heard, he lacks a chin. I'm not sure if it is accurate or not. I'm hoping to have a chance to try that out. That's what I hope. That's my wish at this point.
In his lone professional boxing contest, Fury was defeated by Cameroonian Ngannou in the third round. However, Fury rallied, outscoring Ngannou on two scorecards and winning their ten-round bout via split decision (96-93, 95-94, 94-95). Joshua's 34-year-old promoter, Eddie Hearn, praised Ngannou for his impressive performance against Fury. Despite this, Ngannou doubted Hearn's sincerity. "I've been sitting here listening to people talk, and Eddie even gave me some praise, which is nice," Ngannou remarked.
However, I'm not sure whether he's sincere or if he's simply trying to get me to sleep with his buddy, which isn't going to happen. As a novice, I will put in a lot of training, do my hardest, and enter the battle as the underdog to win. I thus don't use my last battle as a guide and assume that I win this one as well as everything. You see, I am well aware of my whereabouts. As a beginning, I am. And I will emerge a better person and, indeed, improve with time. That's my perspective, then. I'm getting ready for a really difficult battle.
In the competition's Saudi Arabian final, Carlo Ancelotti's team defeated Barcelona 4-1, with Vinicius Junior scoring a hat-trick in the first half. This resulted in the title of Spanish Super Cup Champions for the team.

worldwide investment options for customers, and we are quite enthusiastic about the prospects that lay ahead of us," he continued. Bloomberg claims that Fink, 71, primarily founded BlackRock on the assumption that investors of all sizes would choose to participate in public company indexes at a lower cost as opposed to hiring stock pickers.
The GIP acquisition represents a renewed belief among the largest institutions that they will have to pay greater fees to invest in illiquid funds supporting large-scale, intricate projects.

A valuable asset to Nigeria is Adeola At 70, Tinubu praises GTB founder On Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu celebrated the 70th birthday of Mr. Fola Adeola, a prominent businessman and lifelong friend. As he praised the patriotism of the Guaranty Trust Bank Founder in "promoting initiatives for the economic advancement of Nigeria," he called him "a great asset to the nation." President Tinubu's congratulations are in a statement headlined "President Tinubu celebrates top business leader, Fola Adeola, at 70," which was signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale. Adeola completed his HND in accounting at Yaba College of Technology.

In addition, he holds degrees from the Lagos Business School, Harvard Business School, London School of Accountancy, and the International Institute for Management Development.
Adeola served as the Divisional Head and Deputy General Manager of the Financial Services Division of the Continental Merchant Bank Limited from 1986 to 1990 when he and Tayo Aderinokun founded GTB Plc.
Former vice president and Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar said that while Betta Edu's suspension as the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation is praiseworthy, it is insufficient. Ola Olukoyede, the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, was given instructions by President Bola Tinubu on Monday to look into any financial transactions involving the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.

On December 20, 2023, a leaked memo revealed that Edu had instructed Oluwatoyin Madein, the Accountant-General of the Federation, to transfer N585 million to a private account owned by Oniyelu Bridget. The ministry claimed that Bridget is currently the Project Accountant for Grants for Vulnerable Groups. This action brought criticism upon Edu. In response, Atiku said in a statement released on Tuesday by his Special Assistant for Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, that it was regrettable that a program intended to help over 100 million Nigerians escape extreme poverty had purportedly turned into a money-making venture for APC administrations.
"We think this is a belated move, but Tinubu deserves commendation for suspending Edu," he added. Initially, it was inappropriate for him to designate her as a minister of such a delicate ministry. Because Tinubu prioritized politics over ability, this controversy resulted. What background did Betta have in the field of development? How could Imaan Ibrahim, with her extensive background, go unnoticed? How did Femi Gbajabiamila, the President's Chief of Staff, act as Betta Edu's referee when she was being cleared by the Senate? Atiku, who demanded that the ministry be reformed, said that Betta Edu was not the only one involved in the transactions. 14
SAfrobeats sensation Tiwa Savage has reportedly filed a suit against Davido, accusing him of threatening violence and serious bodily injury. This is according to the allegation circulating online. Speaking to Fayoade Adegoke, the Lagos Commissioner of Police, Savage said that Grammy-nominated musician Davido had threatened her life, privacy, and dignity directly, threatening to "f**k me up" among other graphic threats.

My manager, who is also a member of Mr. David Adeleke's management team, received messages from him on December 23 after I posted a picture of myself and Sophia Momodu on my Instagram story. Mr. Adeleke claimed that I was taunting him and using extremely hurtful, nasty, and disparaging language about my person. I should not have worried.

In her appeal, Tiwa Savage described what happened on December 23. She posted something on Instagram, to which Davido reportedly replied rudely and that she was making fun of him. She emphasized how she had stood with Davido in trying circumstances, such as when his kid died.
As things got worse, she was allegedly the aggressor in calls and messages, and Davido allegedly told her to "be careful in Lagos" because he was going to hurt her. Citing the Cybercrime Act, Savage claimed in her lawsuit that Davido's actions were unethical and could have violated her constitutional rights. She begged the police to hold Davido accountable for any damage, expressing fear for her and her family's safety. The petition asked the authorities to step in and protect her safety, stressing the necessity of an investigation and outlining the claimed threats as forms of both offline and online abuse.
Claims made by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde that the state does not have the resources to pay the N3.4 billion debt owing to former local government area chairmen and councilors he fired on May 29, 2019, have been refuted by Oyo State Accountant-General, Mrs. K. O. Adegoke.

In a recent document submitted to a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court by a state banker, Adegoke outlines his stance on a garnishee action that the former council heads started. The garnishee case was started against Makinde, Oyo State, and other parties after the Abuja Court of Appeal's Dec. 8, 2023 ruling, which mandated that the governor settle the debt, now N3,425,300,000.
Oyo Attorney General criticizes Makinde's assertion Printed on January 7, 2024, by Matthew Atungwu Claims made by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde that the state does not have the resources to pay the N3.4 billion debt owing to former local government area Chairmen and councilors that he fired on May 29, 2019, have been refuted by Oyo State Accountant-General, Mrs. K. O.
The state's account with First Bank of Nigeria Limited had adequate cash, according to the Oyo A-G's court record, and the bank had been instructed to set aside N3,425,300,000 to satisfy the judgment debt that remained due.
In a ruling on May 7, 2021, the Supreme Court ruled that Makinde's dismissal of the council officials before the conclusion of their three-year term was illegal. Additionally, the Oyo State Government later assessed that he should have been paid N4,874,889,425.60 in wages and allowances for the tenure, which the highest court ordered him to pay.
In 2022, the governor approved the payment of N1.5 billion, leaving N3,374,889,425.60 unpaid. Later, on April 3, 2023, the Makinde applied with the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, pleading for permission to settle the unpaid debt in installments of N300 million every six months. Justice Anote Ebong denied their request. Among other things, he had stated in the application that Oyo State lacked the funds to pay the judgment debt and that if the debt were settled in a way other than his suggested one, the state would not be able to fulfill its commitments.
SIt is thought that Randy Waldrum has agreed to a new contract extension to continue serving as the Super Falcons coach. The deal was just signed by the American who led the nine-time African winners to Australia and New Zealand for the FIFA Women's World Cup Round of 16. Although the Nigeria Football Federation, or NFF, has not yet signed their portion of the contract, the specifics of his new deal were not yet publicized.

Sports journalist Osasu Obayiuwana said on Monday "I am reliably informed that Coach Waldrum has signed the Super Falcons contract extension the NFF has offered him." Why the NFF was taking so long to sign their portion was unclear. In October of last year, Waldrum's original deal with the NFF came to an end. Next month's games for the Super Falcons are vital qualifiers for the 2024 Olympic Games. Why hasn't the NFF signed their portion of the contract? They play Cameroon in a pivotal Paris 2024 Olympics qualifying match in February.
The Falcons have not played in the Olympics since 2008″, Obayiuwana worried. The contract extension deal is taking almost three months, since his initial offer ended in October, and almost six months since the end of Nigeria’s World Cup run in August.
After defeating Ethiopia 5-1 on aggregate in the second round, the Falcons will play Cameroon in the third round of their Olympic Games qualification campaign from February 19–28. Africa will only have two teams competing in the Summer Olympics in Paris in 2024. After being excluded from the Olympic Games in London in 2012, Rio in 2016, and Tokyo in 2020, the Super Falcons are keen to make a statement in Paris.
