Despite his huge transfer to Real Madrid, Kylian Mbappe remained grounded when he was spotted giving his shirt to a ballboy after he was substituted. The Frenchman allowed his contract at PSG to expire and made the move of the summer by moving to the capital of Spain. The 25-year-old signed a contract that will keep him in Madrid through 2029, alongside players like Vinicius Jr. and Jude Bellingham. Even though he is now playing for the Champions League winners and is one of the greatest football players in the world, Mbappe has a tender side that he revealed when he was replaced in his most recent game.
The attacker scored a crucial second goal in his team's 2-0 victory over Sociedad on Saturday. Before kickoff, Mbappe was seen chatting with a ball boy, who it is presumed asked for his shirt.
Unlike many of his contemporaries, he did not lose his cool when substituted late in the match. Rather, he made time for the child who approached him on the seat and requested his shirt. The ballboy was overjoyed when Mbappe duly complied, and he sprinted off holding the valuable jersey with a gleaming smile.
Madrid won 2-0 thanks to goals from Mbappe, keeping up their perfect start to the season. Now, four points behind Barcelona, who have won five of their last six games, they are in third place. Mbappe's tenure at Madrid, though, hasn't exactly gone smoothly. The French player received criticism following his goal against Atalanta in the UEFA Super Cup and a 1-1 draw with RCD Mallorca at the beginning of the season.
To get back on track, he also failed to score against Real Valladolid and Las Palmas. However, he quickly doubled against Real Betis, presumably rediscovering the form that makes him one of the most dangerous marksmen in the league. With his goal against Sociedad, he now has three goals in his last two games. As the new Champions League season gets underway, he will be hoping to continue this winning streak. Mbappe isn't allowing his success to go to his head, no matter what.
