The seasoned Yoruba film actor Kareem Adepoju, better known by his stage as Baba Wande, has shared his reasons for quitting acting as well as the one thing that would motivate him to take a role in a film offered by one of his peers. In a video featuring an interactive session with Kunle Afod, which was uploaded on Kunleafod TV's official YouTube account, he said that he had given up acting because he had received an offer of 70,000 naira to work in two different states. He claimed in his statement, "I no longer visit movie theaters because the compensation they offer is completely depressing.
I stopped doing motion pictures because I was paid 70,000 naira for a role in two states. "I can't handle that amount in any manner, especially given the state of affairs in the nation and the present fuel shortage. I might think about going to performing films if I get a good-paying movie role offered to me."
