Following Anthony Joshua's decision to stop Francis Ngannou in their heavyweight bout in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Canadian musician Drake lost a $615,00 wager. Joshua stopped Ngannou in the second round of their 10-round heavyweight fight early on Saturday. The Cameroonian was knocked out by the former unified and two-time heavyweight champion after being caught in the clinch by a right-left punch and another right hand that rendered him unconscious.

After barely a few minutes of action, Ngannou collapsed on the mat, prompting referee Richard Gonzales to call the stoppage. Drake posted a slip of his wager on the fight on his Instagram page a few hours before the battle. The 37-year-old vocalist of "God's Plan" wagered $615,000 that Ngannou would triumph against Joshua at the Kingdom Arena. Based on his wagering slip, if the Cameroonian had won, Drake would have made $1.9 million on the match. Drake is well-known for his propensity for wagering on combat sports, especially the Ultimate Fight Championship (UFC) and boxing.

The rapper lost most of the time when he was on a winning streak, although recording some wins. When he foolishly supported Sean Strickland to defend his UFC middleweight title against Dricus Du Plessis in January, he lost more than half a million pounds. Drake lost $920,000 in September 2023 when he placed a wager on Israel Adesanya to defeat Sean Strickland for the UFC middleweight championship.

Rapper Drake of Canada has been made fun of by Nigerian Afrobeats artist Davido, who lost a £478,000 wager on Francis Ngannou to beat Anthony Joshua in a heavyweight boxing match on Friday.

Drake had posted a slip of his wager on the fight on his Instagram feed. He lost the wager, though, when Joshua defeated Ngannou in just two rounds.

Davido made fun of the OVO boss' defeat in the comments section. In Pidgin, he typed, "Ur ticket don cut." Davido had stated before the bout that he was rooting for Anthony Joshua due to his Nigerian ancestry.

He posted the following on his X handle: "Obviously, as a Nigerian, I want AJ to win. Nonetheless, I feel a gentle attitude from this Francis and his tale once more. You should come employ his style the gbadun manner! But one must be loyal to one's homeland.
