Awarded by The Headies The 16th Headies Awards ceremony was held in Atlanta, Georgia on Sunday, September 3, 2023, for the second year in a row. Through its award, which has since grown to be the highest prize in Nigerian music, the Headies has played a significant role since its founding in 2006 in the chronicling of the advancements made in the Nigerian music business. Rema, a Mavin star, was the biggest winner of the evening, taking home three awards. The event's high point was also his address on the revival of Nigerian music. Afrobeat Single of the Year and Best R&B Song went to Burna Boy, and Asake took home two awards, including the prestigious Next Rated Award.
