Amid the controversy surrounding Miss Ejikeme Mmesoma's Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) result, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has claimed that her result is "patently fake."

JAMB accused Ejikeme of fabricating her 2023 UTME on Sunday, which she disputed.

However, JAMB spokesperson Benjamin Fabian said in a statement on Tuesday that the board has revoked her score and, as a result, prohibited her from taking the exam for the next three years.

"In the meantime, the Board's management, after considering the serious infraction committed by Ms. Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma, and by its established procedures, has withdrawn her 2023 UTME result and barred her from sitting the Board's examination for the next three years," the statement said.

The examination authority further informed Nigerians that its "system was neither tampered with nor compromised as the candidate simply falsified a copy of a result slip of a candidate named "Asimiyu Mariam Omobolanle", who sat the UTME in 2021 and scored 138."

"It is also worth noting that the candidate, in her statement, inadvertently revealed the rightful owner of the result she is displaying when she pointed out that the QR code on the result slip revealed the actual owner of the said result before she peddled a lie in an attempt to obfuscate the truth," Benjamin added.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) reiterates its previous opinion that the UTME result presented by Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma is a forgery.

As a consequence, the Board wishes to reassure Nigerians that its system was not tampered with or breached since the candidate merely faked a duplicate of a result slip of a candidate called "Asimiyu Mariam Omobolanle" who sat the UTME in 2021 and scored 138.

It is also worth noting that the candidate inadvertently revealed the rightful owner of the result she is displaying when she stated that the QR code on the result slip revealed the actual owner of the said result before she peddled a lie in an attempt to obfuscate the truth.

The general public is consequently asked to scan the QR code on the result slip to discover its genuine owner before it was mutilated to see the Board's impregnable stance about this evident deception.

It should be remembered that the QR code encompasses each candidate's UTME result; hence, what appears on the result sheet is nothing more than the interpretation of the information on this QR code.

Furthermore, the public should be aware that the Board ceased distributing Notification of Result slips following the 2021 UTME because candidates were fabricating them. As a result, the Board has started providing genuine UTME RESULT Slips (rather than a notice of results) since 2022, replete with each candidate's portrait.

Similarly, the public is encouraged to consider the fact that, among all the candidates who took the 2023 UTME, only Ms. Ejikeme Mmesoma parades the out-of-date 'Notification of Result.'

The Board is unconcerned about this terrible development because it is not the first time such fake allegations have been made. As a result, Nigerians are asked to recollect several instances where the Board was sued for billions of naira only for the attorneys to eventually apologize sincerely for their clients' errors. Among these is the case of a candidate, John Chinedu Ifesinachi, who, in 2021, wrote a letter to the Board threatening to sue for N2b damages, only for him and his counsel to tender an unreserved apology when the candidate eventually confessed his crime in the face of incontrovertible facts in an open investigation observed by several national public institutions including the Public Complaints Commission, National Human Rights Commission, Federal Competition.

As a result, this case has been appropriately turned over to competent security agencies for a full investigation into the perpetrators of yet another sad hoax.

The Board is not afraid of public scrutiny and is prepared for an open public session with the above-mentioned authorities as well as necessary security agencies, in which the candidate, her parent's guardian, and her legal team will be present.

Another terrifying aspect of the unfolding drama is the nefarious interest of some nefarious elements, who, are determined to push the candidate down this unproductive path, as any casual observer would notice from the stage-managed video aired by Ms. Ejikeme. The Board begs this perplexity to reconsider since their nefarious schemes will soon be exposed.

Again, the Board expresses its willingness to conduct a thorough investigation, since this would not be the first or even the final instance of such antics. At the end of the day, the truth would be out, and the Board would be vindicated.

Meanwhile, the Board's administration encourages members of the public to critically study the topic at hand and avoid false news trafficking.

Meanwhile, the Board's administration has withheld Ms. Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma's 2023 UTME result and prevented her from taking the Board's examination for the following three years after assessing the serious infringement made by Ms. Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma.
