Kayode Olorundare

Governor Aiyedatiwa of itOndo is expected to be declared as the winner of the 2024 gubernatorial election in Ondo. In the ruling expected on Wednesday the tribunal' judgment is being expected.

For Bayo Adelabu his tenure in the power ministry speaks volumes he cannot wait to see out success.

At First bank or Central Bank and at the power ministry he doesn’t seem to have the tenacity to workout success so you can hardly see his achievements anywhere he goes though people place their eyes on him but im afraid he can’t be the man.

But if Oyo State can have a man like Akeem Agbaje then they may have to smile again like when they watched the first television station in the whole of Africa and went to watch football in the first stadium in Nigeria and attended the premier university in Nigeria that is the University of Ibadan.

Those were times of great achievements but somehow the achievements filtered away when imbeciles came to play.

It is sad that Ibadan is still the way Awolowo left it. Nothing new except estates  and bragging ‘we are shoun of the shoil’ Akeem has a more cosmopolitan and matured personality to do the job. You don’t need people too full of themselves. He’s accomplishments in the gas industry is pointer to how he will provide 24 hours supply of electricity in Oyo to set up Oyo state particularly Ibadan as the hub of manufacturing industries

Is Oyo State made up of small minded people because they’ve not managed to produce any leader that can be like Chief Obafemi Awolowo.

While modern day governors in Lagos and Ogun states are doing innovative projects in Oyo the achievements of governors is payments of salaries and pensions and a legacy of debts.

No electricity generation. No refinery, no vehicle manufacturing project or even airplane assembly project.

And another time for the election of new leaders is around the corner and we may yet miss the opportunity to elect a genuine leader who is capable of midwiving Oyo state into a modern state if  care is not taking.

Focus of course is on the All people congress where we have mainly gamblers seeking to occupy the office.

No genuine plans but let me just win elections. People who had been mainly civil servants or only political office holders all theirs lives though they have managed to make money by whatever means like ‘gambling’.

These are the people in the race. People like governor Seyi Makinde whose tenure in office offers the people of the state only payment of salaries, routine infrastructural development etc unashamedly comparing themselves only with former failures. With no vision to make Oyo state a manufacturing hub which it was destined to be. We must do away with Seyi Makinde’s replicas and pick someone who can genuinely take Oyo State to another level.

Senator Sarafadeen doesn’t appear to me as a man with the vision. He’s had enough time to express it.

Of course when he becomes governor he’ll help himself and a whole lot of those who are running after him now to some money.

The vision to transform Oyo State is not in his head he’s just going to beat around the bush, and take Oyo State a few decades back.

TOO MANY GAMBLERS FOR OYO GUBER

One of the greatest misfortunes of the great Oyo state public is that those whom they choose for leaders are mainly gamblers.

In the olden days when someone was a member of the Action Group he was a hero ready to die for their country.

The human race is  too quickly to destroy with their mouth what they can’t imitate so the heroic mentality died amongst us.

Today we have only those who feel they can multiply their money when they joined politics and we don’t seem to be able to decern them.
Maybe because we have lost our sense of value.
So we have become anything goes.

When Buhari was seeking to be President as a civilian he didn’t seek with the PDP party which many consider to be the seat of conservative politics in Nigeria.

Today the APC he formed with Bola Ahmed Tinubu is both conservative and progressive in outlook because the conservatives infiltrated the APC to the  point that they control the APC’s control apparatus.

There is a need for leaders with the progressives instinct. Understanding of the Nigerian problem is the greatest problem today because we have enemies against development within, the conservatives.

With them life is not going to be transformed from poverty and undeveloped to prosperity and development.

ATIKU’S PAW IN THE BOTTLE

Atiku is one man who sees himself as the capo of Nigerian politics and truly he has come a long way. Fourteen or fifteen years old when Nigeria and where he came from, the northern Cameroon was amalgamated .

Everything about his live have the touch of the northern oligarch. He was educated along with the blue eyed northern aristocrats who had the notion that Nigeria belonged to them in the famous school

Barewa college and Ahmodu Bello university or ABU in Zaria. He made his money both in the civil service and in private life and entered politics with the pride of being Mr smart after serving as the vice president for eight years and is ready to give anything to be president.

He always seen the incubate  president Bola Ahmed Tinubu no more than his lackey and is furious with him that he would dare to be president before him.

After Buhari’s eight years in office popular opinion is that power should shift to the south but time was running out on Atiku if he was ever going to be president who is already above eighty years old.

He rejected the zoning formula for the south to produce the president and contested against President Bola Tinubu and lost.

His rejection of the zoning formula has brought untold problems into the PDP party and its disintegration and has not been able to recover that opposition party.

His enemies easily capitalized on his stance to create a wedge between the northern members and the southern members of the party. Instead of facing reality he chooses to blame the incumbent president for the woes of his party and has to move to another party with his allies. Even there they didn’t appear to be faring any better. He has his hands inside the bottle filled with nuts and is not ready to let go
